Check out this quick recording to learn:

  • Why ‘bells and whistles' can be a good thing or a bad thing (how you use them makes all the difference)
  • Marketing is like a game? Yup, here's how to play it to win it
  • What happens when you don't know the metrics “under the hood” of your business

Clash of the Titans (Rockefeller VS Scott)

You’ve likely heard of John D. Rockefeller…

One of America’s first (and most wealthy) entrepreneurs.

There’s a story that says, when he was starting out, he was received a promise from Tom Scott (president of the Pennsylvania Railroad, the largest publicly traded company in the world at the time)…

Anyways, Scott promised him reduced fees for transportation of Rockefeller's oil…

This was a typical “win/win” business situation.

Because it provided Rockefeller more profit margin for his goods and it all but guaranteed Scott’s railroads would stay booked up and earning money…

But then something terrible happens…

Scott,

The Benjamin Franklin Effect

// The secret to getting anybody to do pretty much anything

“He that has once done you a kindness will be more ready to do you another, than he whom you yourself have obliged.”

If you’re into psychology or (gasp!) manipulation (purely in a marketing sense), this will be fascinating to you.

If not, it will probably make you mad.

They finally crack it, but Japanese bombers don’t know that…

In June (same year) the Japanese plan a massive invasion that is designed to seal in the current course of the war, leading ultimately to a defeat of the Allied powers.

…But,

Business Lessons From A Deranged, Psychopathic Criminal

“If you’re good at something, never do it for free.”
– The Joker

Let’s talk about posture.

What is posture?

It’s simply the emotions you create in people when you walk into the room, or get on a phone call, or otherwise interact with them.

You create it. Develop it. And care for it.

Your posture is what makes you attractive and desirable to do business with.

If you get it right,

When the ‘King of Cocaine’ Speaks, You Listen…

Screenshot 2015-09-24 07.51.15

Pablo Escobar…

The infamous leader of the Medellín cartel, reportedly brought in (at the peak of his power) about $420 MILLION per week.

He supplied roughly 80% of the the world’s cocaine supply.

And…

He moved about 15 TONS of cocaine per day.

Two reasons why I’m telling you this story. I’ll get to the 2nd in a minute…

The First: selling is easy when you’re selling something people want.

Easily the most important (and likely the hardest) part of your marketing is making sure your offer is dialed into the market correctly.
